Default Moving on

Well my wife & I decided that 5 cars were too much, so last Saturday we sold her 2003 Mustang convertible & Tuesday I sold my 1990 Triple Black Vert.(delivered it today), 1 to go a 1957 Chevy Sedan with 38,000 original miles ( see Massachusetts Southcoast 1957 Chevy). When I told my wife that I was going to sell the Vette & the 57, she said 'you might as well sell the Mustang' then we can get an even newer Vette. So here we are 2 out of 3 gone, we will probably move up to a C6. I had my 1990 for 4 years, 5 summers, and I really enjoyed it, it was a nice first Vette for me and even though I'm not a mechanic whenever I posted a question I always got back good responses. Thanks to everyone, and who knows maybe someday I'll be back in a C4. I know that I can't keep away from the C4 forum, I will check in time to time. Thanks everyone

Good luck! Life is an adventure, a joy to be lived. Write the next chapter with a different Vette!

Default Deja Vu!

East coast, West doesn't seem to be much different.
This is my story.
We had 5 cars. We had a triple black 92 Roadster. We're in an area that's not conducive to year round convertible driving and the other cars a Mercedes SL with a collapsible hardtop. It really pained me to let the C4 go but it went to a retired mechanic. I also let go a TT JZX that I put almost 2yrs in time.
I sincerely liked the C4. A few years prior we had a triple black C5 6 spd so chances are we may even sell our Mercedes but I don't see myself in a C6. My brother in law has one and I don't like the interior or ride quality for the prices decent ones in our area are going for
I wish you well and who knows where we can wind up a year from now. Maybe back here again

Congratulations. I'd go for a 50s Chevy, too!

I am sorry both of you had to sell some of your cars. I have a 1990 also it has been a pain in the butt to keep it running right the last two years. I am getting it back Thursday and it is still not running right, but eventually I will have it running right.

Thanks, but I did not have to sell my cars, my wife and I just wanted to downsize. My 1990 was running & looking great, that's why I ended up selling it to the first person who came to see it. It sold in 1 week, I think that's good for a C4, there are ALOT of them for sale up here. We didn't need 5 cars. Oh by the way I wave to ALL Corvettes

PP I meant to say both you and Hary Gahtoe had sold your cars not had to sell. I did understand you wanted to downsize.

Where you able to keep them at your home or did you rent garage spots elsewhere and how did you keep track of maintenance? I want to add another car myself that’s why I ask.

Yes they were kept in our garage (22' x 32'), I would put my wife's Mustang on dollys and turn it sideways in the front and the 57 Chevy backed in and the Vette was driven in. Not alot of room left maybe 2-3' around each car. As far as maintenance,I have a wall cabinet full of my 'Adams Car Care Products' and I had a sheet of paper taped to inside of the door for each car. Pretty simple, but it worked, especially since those cars only received oil changes once per year. Good luck with your search, don't forget I have a nice 57 Chevy for sale,
