Timkin & SKF makes some quality bearings, there's a couple threads about using 4th gen F body front bearings for the front & S10 4X4 front bearings on the rear. I haven't had to change mine yet.
I get both front and rear bearing sets from Rockauto. Timken or SKF are good quality pieces. The last Timken hub I bought was marked "Made in USA"
Stay away from the chain parts store hubs. I once bought a "white box" hub from a local AutoZone store to replace a worn hub so I could run at a track day. That hub lasted that day at the track. When I got the car home, the hub had trashed itself. I got a warranty replacement although I didn't tell the clerk where I had been. It's sitting in my trailer as an emergency repair part.
I'm also looking. I ordered 2 USA made Timkens from Ecklers last week ($206 vs $140 for Chinese made). I just called them and they only have one. They're sending it to me so I need to source one more. Does anyone know where to get USA made Timkens? Can we not order the bearing and just reuse the hub?

The hub/bearing assembly is a "sealed" unit. There is no real way to separate the bearings from the spindle. IIRC, somebody was working on a hub unit that would have replaceable bearings, but I don't know what the status of that project is/was. There may be something in the C4 Tech section or the Autocross/Road racing section.

Try Rockauto for Timken units. Maybe Doug Rippie?
Pretty sure those are Chinese since they're only $100. USA made are typically $200 and up. I will try Rippie, tho.
You can get "SKF" bearings at some parts store for $100. I got a bearing in a SKF box from NAPA for $150
Front or rear?

Using the SKF e-catalog from their web presence they only offer a "REAR" hub bearing and no front for either of the C4 front styles. Their catalog also wouldn't convert other MFG's front assembly numbers to a product of theirs. Perhaps their "tooling" wore out and they elected to just no longer service them vs. an "off shore". An error in their cataloging I guess is possible. How likely?
Might be an interesting phone call to check BUT not for me !!
When I replaced the front hub bearings on a Toyota 4Runner about two months ago the Timken bearings I purchased from Rockauto were Made in Korea. That dissapointed me. A part can "look well made" but doesn't mean crap when it comes to the actual engineering, durability or quality.

MADE IN USA product can certainly be as "disappointing" I'm sure.
I'd think that likely the "no questions asked" warranty is maybe the only qualifier that the "everyday" user can base a product on. If you're comfortable with the duration/terms of the warranty then the product might be for you. If NOT well ...........
I've learned from buying Chrysler products with the unlimited lifetime warranty that it's better to get a product that's less likely to need a warranty than one with a great warranty. I spent half my time in rental cars. Sure, it was free. But a real PIA. I only want to do this once. I feel my best chance at doing that is USA made Timken. Plus, the money stays here.
No, rear, but the Camaro's front SKF bearings fit the C4. Search for my thread.
I put 2- SKF bearings in the rear 7 years ago ,and 2- Timkens in the front at the same time...I have put over 50,000 miles on the car since 2008 and they're all still tight..Both were excellent products back then , and both were made in the US....Today it's a crapshoot where products are made and what quality they are.........WW
