Fall Color Run

Local police were great and provided us an escort leaving town. We spent a lot of time driving around the Wisconsin country side and saw a lot of great scenery and people throughout the weekend. We were in Amish country and even shared the road with several horse and buggies and got a lot of waves along the way and everyone and everything seemed to coexist very well. Even had a young Amish man help at a gas stop identify a 'semi hidden' button required to get the gas pump to work and he didn't work at the station.
Saw a lot of friends and made many new ones. The cars ranged from the oldest I saw (67 convertible) through a new Z06 Convertible and everything in between. Whether small block or big block, convertible or coupe, manual tranny or automatic, they were all represented. Youngest participant was 4 and the oldest was at least the same (in their heart).
Everyone seemed to have a good time and the Motel said this was the biggest crowd they'd had in quite a while and that was just one of many people were staying in. I had a lot of fun.
Special thanks to the Police and folks in La Crosse and the towns and places we passed through for allowing us to headquarters in La Crosse and their kindness and help sponsoring the event along with help making the weekend a success.

I was told this was about the 35th year the event was held and it's planned for around 10/6/2016 (not sure the exact date but will be around that time), if you're in the area I'd suggest checking it out as it was a lot of fun. I was told the highest count was around 300 cars a few years back, it would be fun to break that record.

I don't think it would live up to Vermont in the fall from what I hear, but it was pretty darn nice to hit the road with that many friends and the scenery was great too.
Only real thing you had to watch (other than insuring you didn't miss a turn) was where there was horse poo on the highway. More than once creasted a hill and there was green stuff there

PS the club support the Spina Bifida organization and proceeds including from the raffle and auction will go to them.
