Default Polishing aluminum wheels

The clear coat on my sawtooth wheels is peeling in places. I tried using various compounds and hand rubbing them. Plenty of oxidation comes off and they even get shiny but it doesn't match the rest of the wheel. I'm considering removing the clearcoat from the whole wheel center, polishing the center and clear coat over but it seems to come out more grey than silver.

I had to strip my 1990 wheels. Went to O'Reilys auto store and bought a couple cans of wheel stripper. Make sure you take the center caps off first. If you look in the search area and type in "how to strip wheels" you will find several different ways to do it. It took me at least 4 hours to strip each wheel completely

Several years ago I bought some early sawblades (rough cast). I had them bead blasted but ended up going with a different wheel. I sold them to an Australian who had them buffed out by a professional shop. He sent me a pic of the results. Beautiful!

When I got my 86 the wheels were pretty rough. I spent last winter sanding them. Started at 220 and went up to800. Then used a rough cutting wheel and fine cutting wheel on an angle grinder. They look 150% better now.
