When you tried the wipers again with "key-on" they remained parked or started to wipe again? If they remained parked I doubt the issue is in the column and I doubt it anyway but that might be the "first test".

You never mentioned in your first post driving on after or shut off when "at home/parked".

when key is in 'on' position, the wipers turn on and off normally..return to rest...

with engine running, wipers do Not turn off when lever is at 'off'...
when stop engine wipers remain on windshield..
Then if put key in 'on' position they return to rest

Strange issue. My experience with electrical gremlins usually turns out to be a system ground problem.

Maybe check engine & frame ground connections they need to be clean & tight.

An extra ground wire from engine or frame to the wiper motor will verify or eliminate a ground issue.

There is a park switch in the wiper motor it may be headed south.

There are 2 "touch" tabs behind the black wiper motor cover. Insure the tabs are clean & have good contact.

Good luck.

Ive had wiper issues too. Replaced the board and it did not fix it. Symptoms were wipers would only work in high and only if you played with the wiper switch on the turn signal column. Had to turn it on/off repeatedly until they started up and then leave them on....

Ran ground wire from motor to safe ground spot. Fused it just in case. Now works but only on high and doesn't return to off position unless I can time it just right.

Not sure if column switch is bad or something in motor. I guess it's possible replaced board also defective.

Luckily I don't drive it in the rain unless caught by some while out cruising. Still want to fix it right, but not sure what to do.

Anyone have an idea?
