I bought a project car...first Vette I have ever owned. 1996 C4 . It has a broken windshield. No one seems to have the OEM replacement mouldings. Small shops nor Safelite can help...local dealer not much help either. Everyone seems to have the top moulding only...no sides or bottom pieces. Can they be saved and reused the sides and bottom? Or where can I purchase all new windshield mouldings for 1996? Hope you can help. Thank you in advance!!!

Interesting. I am out of town right now and cannot get a photo... Regardless, to you not think there are moldings/seals under the windshield on sides once they remove the windshield? Maybe there are not....just thought there were. A Corvette owner friend of mine also did not mention the "sides" but did say make sure you get new bottom moldings/strips along with top. So are there only top and bottom I need to be concerned with?

I had my 91's windshield replaced by a local company that was recommended by a body shop that uses them for any Vette work that they need done. I did not watch the entire process. I had NCM insurance and they paid the entire $500 cost for the shop to come to my house and do the work.
See if you can find a nearby body shop with Corvette experience and ask who they use for windshield work. I didn't have to mess with any of the trim - just let the pros do the work. It came out flawless.

The sides and top (A Pillar) are all one piece. They will replace when they do the glass. The bottom is not sold anywhere anymore and they will seal it with something else. Safelite did mine and used garbage stripping. I raised a stick and they ordered new from Willcox. They offed to install it, but I did it myself.

He isn't talking about the weather stripping. He is talking about the steel trim moulding around the windshield. The header piece will be supplied by safelite. The side moulding I am not sure is available anymore.

What I did: I called safelite and made sure it was okay that I removed the moulding myself before the winshield replacement. You can do it no problem, it is a little tricky. If you bend something, just bend it back. You will see there are rubber gaskets underneath the moulding, you will ruin them when you remove the moulding so use black adhesive sealant (availabile at any auto parts store) when re-installing them.

You will need to remove the weather stripping first, and then there are a series of torx screws that hold the trim pieces on.

Good luck.
