Help: CTSY Fuse Issue
After having the CDM box bench tested and checked ok, I ended up back in the electrical supplement and found that there are only a couple wires that could cause the CTSY fuse to blow when turning the radio on, one of which was for the radio head. After talking to the Car Stereo Repair guys, they said if the radio head was ever removed, its possible the wiring for the radio head could have been reinstalled with a pinched wire. Sure enough, after removing and reinstalling the radio head, no more blown CTSY fuses and the radio works like a champ. I tried identifying where the short took place, but couldn't find any damage to any of the wires. Regardless, the issue is gone.
So the lesson learned here is, if the radio has ever been pulled, make sure the wires went back in properly, or you do risk a short.
Thanks for all the help with this, much appreciated. I couldn't have resolved it without the support from this forum, and my shop manuals
