What needs to be done to delete the smog hoses? Would i need to get a new tune? Can i take out the hose that goes from header to header and plug the holes? The wirering for it etc? Does someone have a thread they could send me to? Im not finding much

I would make sure it functions properly and leave it in place, but I am of the opinion that clean air is not some sort of conspiracy, and is actually a good thing.

I actually want a prius. One with a 6000hp supercharged hemi that runs on nitro methane and has open headers that stick out the roof sort of like a monster truck. M22 plugs for exhaust manifold. EGR block off plate for 1995 Camaro(ebay) One rubber cap for air cleaner. I removed pump and hoses and just sealed off electrical connector for AIS and EGR, you will also need to have some one deactivated the system in the ECM so you don't have a check engine light. Makes the engine bay cleaner and easier to work on.

2) Clean air is abut far more than global warming, it's about cancer, COPD, asthma, plant life, and soil quality. Where do you think those solids settle?

3) Sacrificing someone else's air quality so that your engine bay can look "cleaner" is pretty darn selfish. Not the kind of person we want to hear lectures from about conspiracies. Do yourself a favor- put the work you'd invest ripping this stuff off toward cleaning up your engine bay the right way, and making sure your car is in an optimal state of tune, which will be cleaner AND help performance.

i'm really not a tree hugger, and I don't want to stir up any more "poop," BUT . bottom line on automotive emissions, is todays engines are way more efficient, than they were before "clean" engine bays - today, more HP, more torque, better fuel economy, etc, etc, etc.. its a win-win. today, we got 4-cylinder turbos that run damn near as good as old school muscle cars.
