When I get my 96 LT1 automatic back from getting the engine rebuilt, I am going to have the trans flushed and fluid changed. Would it be a waste to have a shift kit put in it like you could back on the old 350 trans?

If I were you. I would look at flashing the PCM - 50% of the tables are for Automatics. I Played around with a 95 auto. I had for a few months. After a few basic correction. Such as % TPS for WOT. Timing. Traction retard. This car was Night & Day different.

That is over my head, can a transmissions shop do this?
not unless. They have a tech2 OR software setup like CATS and versed on tune's.. The electronic Trans. Brings a whole new level for a trans shop. No more dropping pans, VB's & nasty fluid. Plug & tune. Clean Work.
