Default Block interchange question

Hey Fellow C4 owners, I have a block question.. I have aquired a 1970 0.10 high nickel small block chevy block.. it has had all machine work done stock bore, and is ready for a build. My question is will all the 1987 parts (heads, intake, water pump) off my 1987 L98 work with this block. I believe it being a one piece crank seal instead of a two piece which I believe I have now,, would not matter. Qoes anyone know if I can use a older block with my 1987 parts ?? thanks, gary

The heads, water pump and other external stuff will work. The flywheel is different and the 87 has a roller cam that will not work in the old block. If it was me, Id get a roller, one piece seal block.

oil pan in the rear seal area is different; so you'll need an earlier style oil pan too.

ALSO, this may or may not be an issue, but in CA and other states with similar smog laws, later engine into earlier car okay, but earlier engine into later car? NO. Oh wait, I see you're in Florida. Feel free to ignore this post (except the oil pan part).

retrofit cam is 3x the price. just get a newer block, a 350 don't need a nickel content to be worried about unless MAJOR boost, rpms, etc

I have the same block, same year. Vortec heads also fit nicely.

I ran a 70's block in my 84 for years; now have a Dart block. Driver's side dipstick, no problems.
