Default 1990 Headlight help

The headlights will not go all the way up.

On the drivers side the manual **** does not make any difference.

On the passenger side I can raise the light using the manual ****.

The lights do come on fine and the headlights close fine.

Help,

Stephen

Just go to AutoZone or similar auto supply vendor and get the same thing. It'll save you the shipping and the wait...

Personally, if I was digging into headlight repair I would not only replace the pucks but the gears and linkage bushings as well, since you're already there.

It will probably cost close to $100 to do both but it will operate like new, if your motors are working as they should.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out. BTW, the videos are priceless in this project.

Lots of different stories on headlight motors. The vast majority can be repaired with the little bushings purchased on line, or from the "zone", or Advance. The part number is a Dorco number. They are actually designated for Ford power window motors. They serve the same function. I had to file mine down a bit to get them to fit but they work fine. My gears were fine, just the bushings. This seems to be the case for most headlight repairs. The first one took about 2 hours, the second under 30 minutes.

I would not use any metal gears better to have the cheaper weak link most likely just the pucks.
