Here's a question my window got stuck down
I took regulator and motor out
took motor off
I used jumper wires to see if could get motor to run
motor only goes one direction
Is it shot?

if you switch the power on the motor does it go the other way? if not dead. if your jumping your switch it might be bad or need cleaning.
You didn't state what year car and your profile is not filled out so we are guessing on what to describe for fixes.
On my '95 the window would go down but not up. It was the switch. All it needed was some cleaning and "exercise". It is now working fine. On a '95 the switch is in the door panel. A small trim panel comes out of the door panel with just an easily removed screw in the door pull area. I tried a couple of methods but finally with the switch removed I used a little WD-40 from the bottom of the switch and worked the switch a few times. It has been working perfect for over a year now. It only took about 10 minutes to fix.
QCVette, thanks this is what I need to do to my 96 CE, the passenger side window only goes down but does not go up, when I try using the driver's side it controls the passenger side up and down. So it must be the switch that just needs cleaning on the passenger side.
