I have 86 L-98 coupe. I want to replace the water pump when I change the cam. I wanted to use an AC Delco unit. I did a quick search on rockauto and found two. The question is why is one $38.99 and the other one is $184.79. I must be missing something...

If I had a known OE/GM casting now and it wasn't a leaker or wobbler I'd rebuild what I have or hire the build done. There's a few quality specialty builders that offer the services with warranty and I'd be likely more comfortable with the product.
I don't shop RA - I'm a "hater" I guess. I didn't use your links and I don't even use RA for price comparisons.
AC Delco pumps are now made in China, I got one 2 months ago from a dealership and it said Made in China right on the box...When I asked the parts guy he said thats where they are made now ...I sent it back and got a Stewarts stage 1 pump from Summit racing because most of the guys on here said it was a very good replacement.....WW
