Hello my son has a 96 z28 recently got wires and plugs replaced due to the miss fire code and poor starting and running. Use to act like it was running on 6 pistons.
Well after getting that fix we now have code p0335 which we did not have before the multiple misfire code before.
The starts and run great but still has the SES light on and will not pass emission test here in Texas with that light on. Does this mean opti is going south?
The code is for the crankshaft position sensor. Did you damage the wire to the sensor during the plug wire change? That is where I would look first. It's right down there behind the crank pulley below the Opti.
Yeah I check that and all wires looked good. Went ahead and cleaned connection with electrical cleaner. After doing this it still throwing the same code. So wires look good and is plugged in

The error is Crank Sensor I believe and you were just in the "vicinity of" so I'd guess maybe you knocked the connector from the sensor maybe.

I hit the "submit" and I see a couple that agree and pushed the button sooner so
You mention NOT and the code is I believe a "hard code" so next would be likely replacement or confirm condition of the connector and the wiring to the sensor.

If it is the one on the drivers side lower part of timing cover than it is the one I took off clean and put back on. This had no change in fixing the code.
Yeah I google p0335 z28 and really no luck in zeroing in on fault. Weird that this happen after shop replaced wires and plugs. As it only had the misfire code before that.

Been there with my 96. First, make sure that the wire leading to the crank position sensor is as far away as possible from the high voltage spark plug wires; after a spark plug wire change out, it's not uncommon to find it surrounded by plug wires which can trigger a false signal. I also changed out the sensor...fairly easy (and cheap) by corvette standards; all this helped, but....
Get a code analyzer which can erase the codes. After a Hot Cam change I went through the same thing, never did get rid of the code entirely, but at least on 96, first year OBII, the code is (I believe) informative only and does not trigger any changes in the engine. I erased the code, and it stayed off plenty long enough to get the vehicle smogged.

Thanks for the ideas will try out this Thursday when I am off. I got scanmaster ELM. This allowed me to clear it but right now it comes right back. I see what happens after I check the wiring. I told my son he might want to buy the sensor but I hate to throw money at a part that doesn't need it.

You might also try disconnecting the battery and letting the whole ECM reboot itself.
Hopefully this is an end to the story. I took your idea of disconnecting the battery which I did on Friday and so far no return. I told him to get it inspected ASAP.
