I would like to get some information about the GTP 6 cam that you installed in your dad's LT-4.
I am going to be replacing my Hot cam with the GTP 6 and would like to talk to somebody that has some experiences with this cam.
What exactly is your dad's setup? What kind of power is he making? What kind of RPM is the cam capable of pulling? What kind of times is he pulling at the track? How is the low end for this cam?
I know your dad has a 6speed but I am going to be running this cam in my auto with 3.73s and 3000 converter. Do you think this is enough stall or gear for this cam?
If you can answer these questions I would really appreciate it.
Re: Paging lcvette...or anyone running the GTP 6 cam. (zelement)
From my understanding it is almost identical to the Comp Cams 306. I think the ramp rates are slightly different with the more favorable being the GTP6 cam. I don't thinnk either will pass emissions testing.

Zelement,
I am sorry for the delay in response, i had some company over the weekend from New Jersey in, MarkLT1 from the forum cam down, and we stayed pretty focused on some projects. as for the cam, i am attempting to scan in some dyno graphs made with this cam installed, i will get it in here as soon as i get all the software loaded properly to use the scanner.. keep posted for the graphs, the cam makes great power if your interested in making power high in the RPM range, the 3000 stall may even be a bit on the low side for this cam. as for revs it pulls a very strong 6800-7000 RPM on a 350 cubic inch mill. if ya have any more questions, please feel free to shoot me an email as i can respond much quicker that way.. Geoff told me here about the post in General because i rarely come in here.. but i will be sure to look through more often now!! talk to ya soon!

here is the dyno graph of the GTP6 cam and my hot cam, i cannot seem to get the scanner here to pick up the image im scanning so for the time being at least this will chow the curves, the taller 410 RWHP curve peaks on this graph at 6750..shoot me an email if ya have any more questions!! thanks!

Zelement,
He runs 4.11 rear gears, and with drag radials has gone a 11.51@122 mph with a 1.67 60' time. hope this helps, the heads were LT4 with stock valves in them and ported by me, all else was general upgrades to accompany the total package. if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
