I drilled a 1/2 '"drill bit hole down thru the latch and the water drains out. Someone once said there were small drain holes there but get plugged up. I never really looked for them, just drilled straight down for drainage.

Someone (eckler's or mad) offers a kit to do the same thing. Includes tubing to direct water down past body panels. Cheaper to DIY, IMHO.
