Hello everyone,
I am hoping I can get some good opinions and gain some knowledge before I make a purchase.
I am interested in a '93 Corvette I saw listed on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Simp...0993341626905/
Having never owned a Corvette I am wondering if the price if 13.5K is fair. I looked at the value on KBB but it shows nothing more than 10K. Is there another place I can get a more accurate value?

Can't get to the listing to look but to get an idea on value I would check comparable cars on eBay and see where the bidding is at not the asking price. Jay
To bad its on facebook. I suspect there are a lot of useful opinions here that will never see it.
13500 seems high. I saw a 96 with 28k miles on it for 12500 just a few weeks ago.

Whenever your looking to buy a used car there are several important things you should do unless you don't mind getting peeled.
1- Be patient and look at a lot of cars.
2- Have your cash or financing lined up before you even start looking.
3- Be willing to travel in the event you find the right car. Its almost always worth it.
4- Know exactly what you want; when you do then you wont hesitate to pull the trigger when you find it.
5- Don't commit one single cent to the purchase of any deal (no matter what) until you actually see the car. There is an extremely high probability there is no car and your being scammed. Just assume everything is a scam until your standing in front of the actual car.
6- Unless the seller is a large dealership (over 100 cars in inventory) then demand to see the title. A seller that cannot produce a title very well may not have one.
7- Any title that has liens on it should be discussed in detail exactly how the liens are being paid off. Anything but a clear and concise answer as to how lienholders are being paid is not good. Personally I tend to want to deliver a certified check directly to a lienholder and the difference to the seller.
8- Be ready to walk away. There will be another car. Guaranteed.
Just remember, while it has low miles its well over 20 years it is a complex automobile. Various components deteriorate with time rather than use. I'd hate to see you be disillusioned. The C4 is a great car if you enter ownership with good information and open eyes. Coming to the forum for advice is a good move. Lets see how you heed our advice. Make sure to come back with feedback. Good luck.
Wow dang. I guess the obama economy is really hurting some corvette people. I just searched Autotrader for fun and there are several seemingly good deals. Including a 96 with 33k miles for 12.5k. Another 96 with 38k miles for 12k. Another 96 collector edition that's the nice silver color for 11900 with 40k miles. A 94 with 46k miles, asking 8k. Also a black 01 coupe with 52k miles for 13k at a dealership in GA.
I might have talked myself into buying another car ....
There are a lot of nice cars around. The CE 1996 (I've got one so may be biased) is out there at good prices as Amotoxracer has seen. Do a lot of looking before you move as nice ones show up regularly.

I looked into and talked to almost all of those car owners you listed. I got detailed pics sent to me and ended up passing on all of them in lieu of finding mine and doing the deal. I can tell you that since this is all fresh in my mind, $13000 isn't super bad. Alot of the extremely low mileage cars are in that range-40000 miles and under for around $13000 as well as the people asking $17-20000. I found mine with 27000 miles and had to travel about 300 miles. They were asking $14990. I got them down to my limit, after some time, but it took a while. Anyways-beware of the garage queens. I just lived through this-I had to replace OPTI-PLUGS-WIRES-and rear bearings. Thank goodness I have friends that know these cars well or it would have been another $3000 on top of what I paid. It's very important to find out what the owner has had replaced recently! If the owner wants to sell-they'll sell, if not, you'll find another. There are some still available and I bought my car a month ago-they haven't moved on price. Here's one very similar to mine and they are asking around the same price. Good luck
I will probably continue to shop around. This car has been for sale since around June or July. I think the price is keeping people away. The price is 13K with the newer wheels or 12 without. I made my offers and have been rejected. Guess the price is not negotiable.
Thank you again, for all of your opinions. I have been doing a lot of research this weekend and I will continue to do so.

You really had to go there? Really??
What a tool.
Let's see, $1.99 ethanol free premium, cheaper C4's vs. $4.25/gal regular with corn, massive unemployment, and endless MidEast war. Oh yes please take me back to the Rebloodlican wet dream.
Because the poor are too rich, and the rich are too poor.
