Amazing to me that the EPA and government have nothing better to do than beat up on our hobby.
We have to keep on our toes so they won't step on them!

Signed it last night. Like I said on facebook, touching hobby cars is the last thing they should be doing, when they let coal plants, which one single plant, in one single year pollutes more than every hobby car on the planet combined, does in their life time, exist.
This isn't about saving the environment, this is about revenue collection from people who can't afford to sue them out of existence, or hold the electrical grid ransom by threatening a total shutdown.

(5) Certified motor vehicles and motor vehicle engines and their emission control devices must remain in their certified configuration even if they are used solely for competition or if they become nonroad vehicles or engines; anyone modifying a certified motor vehicle or motor vehicle engine for any reason is subject to the tampering and defeat device prohibitions of paragraph (a)(3) of this section and 42 U.S.C. 7522(a)(3).

I don't think the EPA really cares about racing per se... It is more about creeping incrementalism and their ultimate goal to do away with the internal combustion engine.

The EPA DOES care about racing; it's attempting to impose fatal controls on the majority of racing, which will effectively eliminate it from the USA. The EPA knows this and that is the intent. The EPA's view is "non-professional racing pollutes and must be eliminated". Next, of course, will the elimination of ALL forms of motorsports. Say goodbye to drag racing, autocross, Chumpcar/LeMons, motocross, Indycars, NASCAR, stadium trucks, etc. etc. etc. as we know them.
