Seat back swap
While doing so I started to look at the possibility of swapping seat backs. My car has 169,000 miles on it and the driver's seat back has flattened some losing all lumbar and upper back support. Also the bolster was wearing thin in the typical spot from 20 plus years of entry and exit.
Speaking only for a '95 with standard seats it was super easy and well worth the 45 minutes of time it took.
This is a simple remove and replace. Only two tips...take the pressure of the backrest spring by pushing the lever and letting the backrest go full forward. This will make it easy to remove the 13 mm bolt at the end of the spring. You need to do that to lift the adjuster up to unhook the adjuster cable. Secondly, the cable needs to feed into the adjuster through a slot that starts at an angle and then goes straight up.
I couldn't get a meaningful picture but once you look at it you see how the cable feeds in.
This is truly a simple R & R project and the comfort difference was obvious as soon I sat down.
