Default Newb questions

Maybe this could become a sticky haha.

I'm new to vette's, as you a lot of you know I bought one that needs some work. It has a few issues which I've searched and found good answers to what are common problems.

I have a couple questions I haven't found answers to yet:

My headlights both work, up and down and bulbs are good. However when they are off and closed the driver's side wiggles. you can push it and it moves quite a bit, I'm assuming when I get on the highway i'll be able to see it moving. Fix for that?

Second my roof leaks. Weatherstripping is past it. Anyone do any cheap fixes for this? Not looking to spend $1,000 on weatherstripping if I can avoid it. One piece at a time I suppose but anyone do any cheap fixes to keep water out?

Make sure all the screws on the headlights are tight (don't break them) you'll have to manually adjust the headlight to get to all the screws, the angles are a pain. As far as the weather stripping i'm sure theres easy ways to caulk it etc (mines been caulked many times and has 1 leak left, previous owns did it not me)

Put new pucks in the lights and try dielectric grease and a hairdryer on the seals tighten the back first.

No idea what year or style you have. Where you came up with $1000 is anyone's guess...Wilcox is a reputable vendor on this site and has an entire WS kit for half that. I sure pieces are sold separately as well. IMHO, band aids are a waste of time and money. YMMV

I have a 1990, came up with 1,000 after looking at Wilcox. 150 for just the roof/ b pillar add each window and the rear hatch and then whatever the removable hardtop needs to seal to the roof and top of Windows I don't think I'm far off. If you have a Wilcox link to 500$ for all of that please post it that's a deal!

Yeah, weatherstripping is about $500 for the kit and I have seen a couple of sales when it was below that in the past.

As for the headlight, open the hood and have someone lightly push on the housing from the outside while you look at the motor and connections on the inside. Try to see what moves and what doesn't then go from there.

I bought a complete weatherstripping kit from Willcox and I am happy with it, its not a 100% perfect but very close and it fits great on my 94
