Corvette speeding amnesty?
I had heard rumors that the CA Highway Patrol was turning a blind eye at speeding Vettes this year because of the marques 50 anniversary. Well I know this doesn't prove anything but, I was doing 85 in a 65 stretch of empty (!!!) freeway this weekend when without notice my escort lit up like a christmas tree. I thought oh well, i got nailed - first ticket. Anyway CHP pulls me over, says i was doing 20 over, I said sorry - he let me go with a warning!!!!
PS: My Escort was lit and beeping the whole time! :yesnod:

It is amazing you got out of that ticket.
You should always remove the radar detector.
I would have definately given you a ticket just for leaving the radar detector right in my face!! :D :)

Let's try to think about this realistically. The CHP is going to ignore speeding Corvettes because of the 50 Anniversary? Their job is to give you tickets, why would they just ignore you? You can't tell me that every single CHP officer is sympathetic to Corvette owners, though some might be. It'd be cool if they didn't care though :D
