Default spring time repairs

well its that time of year to uncover the car and get going on it but i have a few questions below for things id like to get fixed this year.
1987 corvette convertible
1) my ac has been unplugged since the day the car was brought home when plugged in its noisy as heck (didnt check to see if it was blowing cold or not) but does a compressor from a lt1 work on a l98?

2) dash light bulb which ones are the cooler running ones ive read soo many different numbers i dont know which to put in.

those are the 2 main ones i would like to fix this year alogn with my cruise control but thats gonna be some testing.
appreciate it folks

Just doing a quick search it looks like when Chevy went to the LT1 they also changed over to 134a refrigerant, and a different compressor.

You might still be able to find some R-12, but it will be VERY expensive. As long as the system is open and being repaired, changing over to 134-a is not a big deal. Rockauto has reman compressors for your car from $150 and up.

GM changed to a Denso A/C compressor in 1988. The bracket and hoses are completely different. R-134a was used in 1994 and later. The evaporators and condensers are thicker in those years.

R-12 has come WAY down in price because everybody has switched to R-134a. The people hoarding R-12 are now desperate to sell and have lowered the price quite a bit because there is no demand.
