Default 1985 info

First of all I would like to thank those who have sent replies to me. Next, am I posting these properly? I am going into "new topic". I do have a question as to how in the heck you can get to the antenna wires in the rear of the car. Someone cut mine at one time and I would like to fix it. One more thing, has anyone ever replaced the stock non receiving antenna with a standard one? I would rather have good reception than the crappy stock one...thanks...Jim

Take off the plastic trim piece. Under that you will find some foam, the antenna wires are buried in there. At least that's how it is on my '93 & '95.
The connections will be on the drivers side of the car.

The trim peice is the plastic that is at the rear of the car when you open the hatch. It may be brittle from old age so be careful with it. When you do open it up and find the wiring you will have to deal with a rubber grommet and push the wiring through it.......... it's actually a PITA so many people clip the wires and splice them in the fenderwell area. trouble there is that the clors of the wires fade. also someone MAY have unhooked the solenoid to keep it from doing anything ............ and you might want to take thr left rear wheel off and unbolt the fenderwell ....... gives ya some room :seeya

The trim is the rear driver side. You should find the connections around the corner area.
