Drivers side headlamp jammers
I've seen a trend in posts regarding problems with the drivers side headlamp.
Responses cover the usual suspects: bushings and gears. But you can hang a lot of parts trying to get the source analysis correct.
Until 65GSVert pointed me in the direction of internal things interfering with the headlamp, I was stuck.
It turns out that there are these Bosch modules tightly packed alongside the radiator, held on with 20 year old glue that had turned to powder.
So I took some shots of what had come loose on mine and how I reaffixed them. I didn't order replacement factory hangers. Just double sided foam tape.
I hope this helps others dealing with this common problem.

I've put H4 lights in my '93, and because I live in the UK where sidelights have to be white, I've wired in the sidelight bulbe that are in the actual headlamps. I made up little sub-looms from behind the bumper up to the lights where I carefully secured them with cable ties, leaving just enough free length for them to work without pulling, but also not impeding the rotating of the light. Tricky, but worth the effort to be legal. 
If anyone knows how to get the lamps to rotate with the first switch position, I'd be grateful!! I turn onto headlamps, then back one to get sidelights.
