Default Drag strip time

Last time we couldn't break into the 12's but this time we did. Second best was 13.08 at 108. Here's the best slip of 12.88 at 110. <br >

Heres the thread from the previous trip. Only thing different this most recent time out was we dropped the spare and jack and the driver was 30lbs lighter.

Me last night with major traction issues-

All stock '92 coupe with auto. It was cold (low 50'ties), I didn't have my track tires, and the track was slick as hell. If I could of got it to actually hook up, I would have been in the high 13's.

congrats guys, isn't the 1/4 a hoot to race. My L-98 is bone stock. My best so far is 14.037 at just over 97 mph. My big problem is also traction. Anything above idle is a wasted effort and even off idle it just spins to much. Like you guys, I gotta get a set of drag radials. I WANT in the 13s.

I have Nitto 555 street tires (not drag radials). I have no traction problems at all. The tires I had before (same stock size) still had good tread but they were dated and the rubber was getting harder with time. Those tires spun like crazy. Amazing what a new set of softer rubber will do for traction improvement.

Yes, with stock tire pressure and only a mild burnout just enough to dry the tires after the roll through the water box.

Not stock. Moderate aftermarket cam, 3.54 rear gear, PCM tune. All else stock. Except for the Cray wheels which are actually heavier than the stock saw blades. I'd have a higher trap speed if I put the stock wheels back on.

Nitto 555 are good tires, had a set on the car when I got it. I'm running 295/35/19 Hankook Ventus V12 on the back of my car for street driving, and they are about to the point of not passing inspection. I have NT05 tires I normally run when I go to the track.

John, that's a pretty good RT. My best so far has been .350. The Indy track isn't open yet but I believe it does this month. Best of luck Tom and hope all stays together.

RT doesnt really matter on a test and tune night. Ive had some lower then that and im by no means experienced, just got lucky.

So your running stock exhaust manifolds? stock rockers? just the "mild" cam?

Still good times, fast enough to not look like a fool against a c5!

I was turning 14-14.2 @ 101-102 mph. High 13's, you should be in the 104-105 mph range. Good luck and have fun. Looking forward to seeing your results.

The 12.88 is actully my son's run. We both drove it that night. He ran quicker than me and also had better reaction times. I was a habitual red lighter. LOL

Thanks for poking me on this. I missed listing aftermarket roller rockers, valve springs and push rods. I guess I was considering those as cam related. I did reuse the stock roller lifters.

Completely stock heads and stock exhaust including stock cats. Muffler eliminators for good sound but they dont add performance.
