Well my brake pad replacement took a different turn today. Began pulling everything apart, and found that my front pads are not that bad. About 1/2 left of pad. RF was worn a little uneven, but rotors and pads were both smooth and no grooving. Pulled only the LR, and the pads were down a little more, but still some life left. What to do. Took pads to my mechanic for a long talk. Thought maybe i should just clean and lube everything up, and put it all back together. He doesnt like to machine rotors down, unless they really need it. Like grooving, rusted, high spots or shaking. Said taking material off a high-perf rotor is not a good idea. So i guess that is what i am gonna do. Maybe when the pads get wore down, i will just put whole new rotors on.
I just thought the pads were less than that from last year.

I'm about to tackle mine, not sure what all I'll need if anything at all. Heading to the mountains for 3 days next month and want to be sure I have good brakes.

I been meaning to post an update on what i did. Last sat eve got it all back together. Did not replace anything, just cleaned and lubed things up. Was a good lesson on how they go together. Like people said above, real easy to work on these pads. For the fronts, the trick is to push on the loaded caliper towards the rotor, then the lower pin will slide in. For the rears, just take out the top bolt, and swing the caliper out of the way, and the pads just stay within the bracket, on the rotor. After cleaning, just line up the pads on the rotor, and swing the caliper back over them. Pretty hard to mess it up!

So what i think i am gonna do next, is just run them as is, keep any eye on the fronts, and when they wear down, maybe just replace the front rotors, as well as the pads. For the rears, maybe just put the new pads in. Will have to consider rotors there as well.
