Ok my son knocked off a muffler so we yanked other one off
Car isn't loud at all
also noticed that when you pull out you have to back off on gas
And it will slowly take off.
Runs fine sitting still shifts ok to.
I'm thinking converter sort of plugged up.
About a month ago he sprayed carb cleaner in both throttle bodies
and car took off.
that's why figure catalytic converter is clogged.
Any ideas?

Remove cat and test it. You can bang all the stuff out of the cat with a bar and you will have a clean car and lots of power.

For a 84 Vette 15 hp is lots
