Default Smog pump done

Ok so I heard a bad noise when I got home from work. Really bad whining/grinding sound. Take the belt off to see which pulley it is and it's the smog pump. It's toast. Problem is I daily my c4 and need to go to work tomorrow. Rather not have my belt seize on the way. Can anyone help Macgyver something up for my car that would last 2 days? I'll probably end up getting a delete kit but I need a solution for the next 2 days. Can I take apart the smog pump and run just the pulley somehow?

Easy to disassemble and a pain to put back together. Fought it would just lock up I would just spray some oil in the center hole in the rear. Lube the bearings.

Did that as you were writing it. Mine doesn't have that hole in the middle. Has mine been gutted? Mines an 85 if that makes a difference.

Anyway, so I lubed up that rear roller bearing real well and put everything back together. Idled it for about 10 minutes then took it on a 10 mile drive. All seems well with no grinding noises at all. Maybe the bearing just needed a little lube? Thanks!

Default Gutted

Several years ago mine did the same thing. After I took it apart, I thought, "why do you need this thing". I gutted it, put it back together and it's been running fine for many years.

From the looks of it most decently gutted. Thought about doing that to mine but my bearing was bad.
