If anyone has a picture of how they ran their plug wires on each side that'd be awesome. The previous owner on my '88 vette has different wires that are zip tied here and there and I want to get new wires and run/dress them correctly.
Got a couple of pictures of how the wires were when I bought the car. I had the Chevy garage do a tuneup including changing the wires which were all messed up. I've since straightened then up some, added looms and some heat protection to them (found remnants of burnt wire covering on the air tube and exhaust manifolds).
with a few minor variances, all plug wires on L98 cars run the same way. while not impossible, it takes some effort to get any replacement set to run to factory configuration. utilizing factory bracket and holders is a must for the factory look. one note - no wires run in front of the distributor. there are three wires that run behind the distributor - #1, #2, and #3. here's a few pics of my 90. it's as close as I could get it....

Interesting, the FSM for my '87 L98 says, in a drawing, that #1,#2 and #3 must be in front of the distributor. That's okay, I'm used to variance now (wheel offset, EGR tube).

there's been much discussion in the past about this. seems that the FSM's for L98 cars reference drawings and text from an old cross-fire application. both my 85 and 90's FSM reference the same "front distributor" wire routing. I have many pics of original L98 cars, and all wiring route behind the distributor. my 85 and both my 90's had original wires when I bought the cars, and the wires routed behind. some of my posted pics are of a 1990 challenge car NOS L98 engine - clearly shows factory routing.

I bought these stainless wire looms from Jr Rifle Coach. The black wiring loom that holds the injector wires was cracked so I used color matched wire protector and held them in place with marine-style wire holders. This was on my Steel Blue 91:
On my 87 I used wire looms from JEGs. The valve covers had turned brown so I had them sand blasted and primed. I then shot them with valve cover paint from Corvette Central:

JoeC, what is the wrap on the EGR tube in the first two photos?
Thanks, Went
Thanks to the OP and all who provided pics as I have been trying to fix my '88 L98 as well. The distributor area has been especially frustrating so this helps a bunch. I am away from home for a few days but look forward to routing mine properly.
Advance auto parts has wire looms for chevy engines part number 40295. I just ordered a set along with black thermo shields for the wires. Plug wire 6 kept getting burned :| there should be metal tabs that screw into the head right under the valve covers.
