Well here is the deal .
I got a C4 for less then most people pay for a top end car cover.
(Yes the everything inside the engine came out of the crank case for some fresh air. ) Engines are childs play and another topic.
This thing came with some low cost aftermarket racing seats in it.
I have sat in trashcans that are more comfortable.
What other seats will work in the C4 interior? Depth and width, hight?
Before I go start measuring everything in a junk yard what have some of you done? Come on I know some of you broke the golden rule and didn't use factory GM parts.
Make model is open to me. I don't care who made them GM, Ford, Toyota, Mercedes? It does not matter as nobody makes their own seats anyway.
No, I don't care about mounting holes not lining up, as I can fabricate any bracket needed. Power seats don't matter. Once the seat is adjusted to my butt, why would I ever need to move it again??
NO, they do not need to be factory C4 seats as I refuse to pay more for a seat then I paid for the entire car.
So what options can you give me?
Might want to look at Corbeau seats. They have some that will fit in the early C4's and are very comfortable. Most aftermarket seats will have versions that are different widths so look at the dimensions to make sure they will fit. Seat width will be very important.
Look at seats like the Corbeau A4 or the Baja XRX. Corbeau has sliders available so you can adjust forward/rearward settings. Leaving the seat in one place all the time may be fine for short trips, but being able to adjust a seat on long trips is a huge help.
You can get Corbeau seats from TPSMak who is a CF Supporting Vendor. Look thru their site and you should be able to find free shipping deals when you buy two seats.

Do you have something against the factory seats? Have you tried them? Why make things difficult? There's not a lot of room between the door sills and the trans hump! I'm presuming you want seat belts, too? I love my '84 seats, and Antfarmer loves his, so how can you go wrong? We seldom agree on anything!

No I have nothing against factory seats. But once I replace the blown engine with a engine I already own and have in the shop. I will have just over $1200 total into this car. All the stock seats I have found for it near me, are over $450. Just a bit much for a $1200 car.
That is why I asked.
Now If I can find a good set for about $200 or less for the pair, that will be a different story.

For that price you need a salvage yard or someone parting out a C4.
The biggest issue with retro fitting seats into a C4 is the width of the seats; 99.9% are too wide. my only suggestion, and what I did with a similar seat swap in another vehicle that needed narrow seats (21 inch wide or less) was to go around ALL the salvage yards with a tape measure and measure. The next hardest thing was finding a set with a good drivers seat...it seems...and this is just my theory, that when cars get into an accident. the passenger seat is often empty and doesn't get tweaked, but the drivers seat is more often than not tweaked / bent by the force of the drivers body being thrown around.
Now, with all that said, I did find some sporty convertible econo box seats (a GEO Metro convertible if I recall correctly) that looked like they would fit but the price...back in the day was $450 for the pair...so they stayed where they were, in the car, exposed to the elements....a few months later, I went back to the same yard, same seats still in the same car but now with a few months of accumulated dust and grime...remember it was a convertible...and they went home with me for $200 for both.
A good power washing and a couple of cans of "Scotch Guard" later, they were like new and a HUGE improvement over the Chevy Vega seats they replaced.
IMO what you find out the for 200 you probably won't like. If you plan on driving this car more than 30 minutes; you will want a comfortable, not worn slam out, seat. It's an 85, built when Corvettes rode like sports cars.
