Default window motor and switch problems

In my 94 the windows stopped working. I replaced the drivers side switch and they started working again but once I hit the automatic down the motor tried to keep running down and it burned the switch out again. What is it that is supposed to kick the motor off once it hits the bottom and how do i adjust it

Not sure but might need a new motor.

The automatic down feature is a function of the switch. There are no adjustments that need to be made, or can be made.
Many GM cars have a circut breaker in the the fuse panel for power windows and you should be certain that if your car has a circut breaker for the window circuts that's it not temporarily "open"
