Major problem,,,,,,,I went to go for a ride in our 95 conv but would not start. It turns over fine but does not even try to fire up I checked the gas ok it ran fine a few days earlier. No warning lights etc. Any ideas would be appreciated.

 

First see if it is fuel or spark easiest test shoot some fluid in the intake and see if it fires. Do you hear the fuel pump run for two seconds when you key on? Test for spark and fuel pressure.

 

I agree with antfarmer; check for fuel and spark. There is a schrader valve at the back of the fuel rails where you can check for fuel. Honestly, it sounds like you might have an Optispark issue. They can go bad with no warning.

 

Strange that I pushed out of garage to be transported the engine started again anD after 5 min I shut off and would not fire again. At the motor shop the car started again and has not failed since. Fuel pres was ok. Tech seemed that it was likely the opti spark and Lt1 had an opti problem history

 

Some Optispark units can have intermittent failure when they begin to go bad. Mine would not start when any moisture at all was present. I just got tired of worriyiing about it and replaced the unit. No problem since.
