Of course, the first time I drive my car at night, I have a headlight problem. I've tested their operation a few times since I got the car and the seemed to be fine until tonight. Although one time I did hear the motor in the right light continue to run for a few seconds after the light was "closed".
Now, the left headlight operates fine but the right headlight only rotates part of the way. It ends up pointing down inside the car instead of up and out onto the road.
I've done a search but didn't find this exact symptom described anywhere.
You need to replace the gears and bushings. There is a how to somewhere in the stickys. It happened to me too. It was $300 for labor when I had it done. You can save that if you know how to do it.
Easy fix for six bucks of pucks if it is a newer one look on youtube to see how. Until you fix it just open your hood then turn on the lights or turn the **** on the motor to full open. You can always leave them open by disconnecting the motors till you fix it or if the wife is driving it.
I just watched the YouTube vid. I'll fix it myself.
I just ordered new gears & bushings.
I did that too still have the gears. You could have gotten the pucks from the help section at the local parts store. They are used in some window regulators too.

This topic comes up so often, I would imagine the sheer volume of results would be too overwhelming to read.
