I'm very excited to get it! Couple more weeks probably. I've never even seen it. Told its maroon and runs pretty well. I'm crossing my fingers it makes the 400mile trip from Idaho to Oregon. Just in time for my mid-life crisis It's been sitting for 11 mos......Thanks for the reply.

Here is a list of things to do and check before making the trip. I'm sure others will chime in:
1. Check the manufacture date on the tires. If they are more than 10 years old then replace them - even if the tread looks good.
2. Make sure the spare tire is aired up and you have the jack, its handle and the "key" socket that removes the locking lug nut on each wheel.
3. Check the hoses and serpentine belt - replace them if they are at all questionable. Flush and fill with new coolant. Change the oil and filter.
4. It would be a good idea to install a new fuel filter, drain the tank and install fresh fuel.
5. Make sure the brakes work and will stop the car safely.
6. Check all the switches and lights to see that they work.
7. Do a test drive to include in town, country lanes and freeway. Watch the oil pressure and water temps.
8. If it an automatic then check the fluid while at operating temperature.
9. Bring some tools, wire and duct tape for the trip home. Don't forget your cell phone, charger and insurance card.

Congratulations! Make sure to take a few pics and share them with us. Also, stay in touch on your trip home too. Sounds like you may have a nice driver on your hands.
Corvette Ron gave you terrific advice. If you are not too mechanically inclined you can have a shop change the fuel filter for you quickly and easily. You will need line wrenches to safely remove and install it so that you don't twist a fuel line.
Great idea on the spare CD/iPod radio as well, MotorCity!.
I would tell you to check for any signs of mice chewing on wires under the hood. Also be a good idea to just wipe down the interior to get any dust out/off and check for mold if it has been sitting outside or has evident water damage.
Might not be a bad idea to check the amps on your battery too just in case its weak.
