Can anyone help me find where I can purchase the outter door ajar switch that has the rubber tubing around the wires that is near the outter part of the door next to the door panel. Thank you in advance. Sal
Thank you for your reply but zip and corvette mod don't have them either, those are for an 88, trust me I have checked just about everywhere with no luck. some gm sites let me order them, they charge me, then refund me a day later and say the part is on backorder and don't know when it will be available, someone out there has to have been through this already, I can't be the only person that needs this part. ..please help
I though it was a junnkyard never heard a junkyard discontinue a part.
Another absolutely worthless comment

OP - the switch you're wanting surfaces from time to time on eBay. The most current GM number was 10045838 but an earlier number I believe was 14087681 and would have been an original production for your '85.
You might try checking in the SELL/WTB for someone parting an '85 -'87 for a used. Maybe post a WTB there and asking responders ask if they'll confirm operation. It would be very easy with a meter.
Do you have one of yours removed?
I have never had a need to or been curious enough to try but if the mounting holes are dimensionally the same (I assume they are) and the plunger length the same (I assume/maybe) then you could very likely use the later switch and just change the connector type to match. That wouldn't be an issue!
NOO! Fail.
I wonder how different it is from the 88 to an 85 switch. Maybe it is mod-able? I will make my way to a few vette junkyards in la pretty soon and I will have to look.
Otherwise, Ebay or Clist parts cars sound like the best options. You could also email corvette dismantlers on ebay and ask for a couple of sensors for a pre 88. Maybe they could see if they are completely different too from the 88+
Are these guys for real? IDK... http://www.corvettepartsworldwide.co...ch_p/30815.htm
