That really sucks. Did you say anything to him about putting his cup on the hood? He was probably just jealous or having a bad day. Hope it was a small fine.

you dont understand, there are NO parking spots in the college parking lot at that time in the morning. Even the grass field was filled up, so it was either park in one of the 5 empty visitors spots or park on the other side of campus in the empty lot and walk about a half a mile back to the building i needed to go to.

I would be lying if I said that it didnt cross my mind for a plit second, I just cringed and took the ticket, and he picked it up and left.

I felI felt the same way when I saw a cat laying on my car in college. It wasn't even a vette. I scared it off and it ran into the street and got hit by two cars and died. Kinda felt bad.

Maybe you need to go on a little drive to calm you down. It works for me.

Bottom line is that if you didn't violate a law or college regulation, he wouldn't have put the cup on your car because you wouldn't have been getting a ticket. It all starts with you. :rolleyes:

Anyone that's been to college probably has similar stories. Parking tickets are a huge revenue source for colleges. At Mizzou, they had cadets ( students working on their criminal science degrees ) out writing parking tickets, so it cost absolutely nothing for the university.

If you want some advice, for the duration of your college stay, expect to get a parking ticket ANY time that you park illegally, even for 5 minutes.

I'd definitely have said something about the cup before the ticket. Probably picking it up before he could and pitching it two feet whilst saying what the.... are you doing, this is not a coffee shop. :cuss

When I got a parking ticket at ASU (one of many) I was only 1 minute late and the cop (or meter maid or whatever) put the ticket under my windshield wiper. As she was writing up the car next to me for the same thing, I backed out with the ticket still in place and turned my wipers on high speed, flinging the ticket off the car and onto the ground.

I then drove away only to be pulled over by a campus patrol car a block later. The woman who wrote the ticket wasn't far behind in her little three wheeled cart. She handed me the ticket and the campus cop wrote me another one for littering! I attended a "diversion program" that was offered to dismiss the littering ticket, but somehow the court was never notified and I got picked up on a warrant a year later while taking a date to dinner.

I guess the moral to the story is that there isn't much you can do about these jerks, so don't try to fight it. Just don't give them any money when they solicit you for donations for the rest of your life after you graduate! :rolleyes:

Everytime there was no open spaces other than the visitor space, I would just take my parking pass off and park in visitor :D

. I would have knocked the coffee on the ground without even thinking twice. Getting the ticket sux I know. Rent-a-cops were the same and ready to pounce when I went to University of Kentucky. I'm all for being polite :blueangel: unless I know I'm getting a ticket. :boxing

Well im glad to see that SOME of you were supportive in your responses. The one and ONLY reason that I parked in the visitor spot is because IMHFO I was a visitor to the college at the time. I needed to run in and return a book and be back out in 10 minutes tops. There were several spots opened and I had driven through the entire parking lot FIRST to find another spot. I believe that if your not staying more than a few minutes, than your a VISITOR!

College cops overall seem to be big time ******. They go out of their way to hide behind stuff and catch people doing the lamest things. I'll definitely have a conversation with the dean and police head if they try their crap on me. We're there to go to school. Not be harassed by the cops. Just a nice revenue for the college... kinda sad. But yeah, that coffee mug would be in orbit if it was on my hood. :smash:
