Default Anyone recognize this part?

It is a STAR pattern screw. It looks familiar, but I looked around and didn't see one missing, and no symptoms.

In what area of the car did you find it...or was it on the ground?

Wonder how long it had been loose before it finally fell down? Was any work done on motor?

Too small. It is a shoulder bolt, so the whole thing is not threaded.

What specification is the thread? M6X1.0, M8X1.25 or ... Snapshots are deceptive. I had a SPO catalog scanned to .pdf and I can search hardware pretty effectively. I assumed the 2" would be likely 50mm but if the under-head can be measured in mm it might be good.

I don't know that I can but I'll look.

What I'm inclined to believe it is - H/L bracket to actuator bolt.

In this link/offering the TORX rusty headed one:

Agree with WVZR-1, looks like a headlight drive mounting bolt. I measured mine and they are about 2" long. See attached picture for location. (not from my car, used WVZR-1 fle-bay link)

You hit the bolt on the head! Nice job, thanks! Most of the others were loose too. I have replaced both gears in each motor twice, last time was years ago. I knew it looked familiar. I am glad I found the bolt on the ground, and you were able to ID before most of the rest came out! There is one on each motor behind the headlight frame, that I couldn't tighten without removing the headlight, but they can't fall out due to the frame.

Thanks again!

I couldn't have accomplished it without the "hint" mentioned by "AF2" in post# 2 - pushed his "worthless" post counts to nearly astronomical numbers BUT wait the CF don't keep a "tally on them". Shucks!
