OK so I used my 1990 last night, got up this am and started her up. After I warmed her up and started driving, I noticed the interior lights are staying on. The switch is in the off position and I checked all the doors and the hatch. I had to pull the fuse so it doesn't drain the battery. Any suggestions???
If all the interior lights are on and the headlight switch didn't turn them on, I'd suggest looking at the door switches. I'm guessing one or the other is bad (first thing I'd look at).
Assuming all of the courtesy lights are on and not just the cargo lights.
Test the door ajar switches.
Turn the ignition On.
Open drivers door. Door ajar indicator should light.
Close drivers door. Door ajar indicator should go off.
Same with the passenger side door.
The Hatch switch only controls the two cargo lamps so it appears that switch is not your problem if all of the courtesy lights are on.
With the door key, insert the key and lock and unlock each door. When you remove the key make sure the key is in the vertical position when you pull it out of the key cylinder.
To eliminate a stuck Courtesy lamp relay you can swap it with another relay.
Below is a picture of the relay location. You need to remove the passenger side foot well panel and look at the front bottom edge of the dash. The relay closest to the passenger side door is the Courtesy lamp relay.

When u turn the door lock make sure it's in the right position
As this car make the light stay on
U need to remove the door trim and remove the c clip the holds the door lock and wiring together and clean the contacts make sure the with Sleave on the lock barrel is not broken
This is the peice that turns the alarm on and off and also your lights
