Default Intake question

On my intake manifold there is this strange rod sticking out and I can't figure out what it is. It looks like a vacuum line is supposed to go there so I checked out pictures of other peoples L98 engines and didn't see any thing like what I have. I took some pictures of it so maybe someone here can help me identify what this is and what it's meant for.

The thing thats sticking out is what im talking about

This is just a full shot of my engine

Here is a new L98 that I found on display at Mid America in Effingham, IL. This is the way a stock one is supposed to look:

Here is a pic of my 91 when I brought it home. Totally stock:

You can purchase the bracket from a Corvette Salvage yard such as Vette2Vette in Streator, IL. There are other sellers out there too.

Ok thank you so much. I thought I was missing something vital on my engine like a hose or something.

That's a stud for a wire loom retainer that clips the throttle and cruise control cables in place. Check out this thread for more info;

Your Distrubutor was installed incorrectly compare the pics yours is cocked look at the coil/tach connector[/QUOTE]

Could that be why my rpm tach isn't working? Just so you know, the way you see the engine is how I bought the car. Im just trying to fix everything.
