I have a 84, and was sold the car without a keyfob. The security keeps going off and the only way I can shut it off is to disconnect the battery. Is there a way to bypass or permanently disconnect the system so I don't have to worry about it. Thanks
There was no fob from the factory. Your owners manual should explain how the alarm system works. If it keeps going off for no reason, check the door switches. If one of them is malfunctioning the alarm can be activated apparently at random.
I'll have to give the key in the door lock and see if that works. It's the factory alarm (horn honking, wont turn over). It usually happens when the door is unlocked, and I return to the car and just open the door.
