good afternoon. I recently purchased a '90 base model and have two questions. After a short drive I couldn't get it started again. I had all the lights and electrics and strong battery, but when they key was fully engaged...nothing. After about ten minutes of trying it finally started. I did not notice if my security light was on during this time. I changed to a newer set of keys just in case. It only happened that one time and not again. Another thing that I have noticed is that under heavy acceleration and then immediately off the gas....my rear end seems to sway some as it disengages power to the ground. If i let off gradually I do not feel this at all. Thoughts and Thanks!!!
Could have been the vats from the key would have to test more to be sure. Is it a stick or auto? Stick you will feel it more. Look for slop in the rear.

Check your rear tie/toe rod ends. They "steer" the rear tires. When they're worn, power on "steers" the wheel one way, power off "steers" them the other.

this is an automatic. no slope in the rear but saying that I'm not positive i know what you mean.

This is an auto. What other test would you recommend?
Antfarmer is right; you just need to jack it up and figure our what is loose.

It doesn't matter if it's an auto or manual; the rear suspension is fundamentally the same. Check your rear tie rod ends. Look at this picture;
What pieces do what to control the position of the wheel? The axle shaft (big tube) is your "upper control arm". The rod below it is the "lower control arm". Those two arms set the track and camber; the inward or outward tilt of the top of the wheel. Is looseness in those joints going to affect the steering of the rear wheel? A little, maybe, but not a lot.
Look at that skinny rod above the axle tube and closer to the camera. What does it do? It "steers" the wheel/knuckle. If it's loose, is the wheel direction going to be poorly controlled? For sure. Check it.
