If you look at questions similar to this over say….. the past ten years here on the forum the consensus is that you do not use a high pressure spray on the engine compartment. A gentle stream of water to rinse off what you have sprayed with simple green will work. Many of us simply clean by hand and once you get the engine compartment really clean its not that difficult to keep it that way. Simple Green is great and so is mother's aluminum polish. I prefer 303 aerospace protectant for all of the plastic and rubber items in the engine bay. Everyone has their favorites.
You’re looking at my 95 with over 130K on it. Used it as a daily driver for years and the engine compartment always looks like this.
