Somebody had a post awhile ago about some AFS blems they got dirt cheap. They posted pics of the blemishes and I swear I've seen 'perfect' wheels with bigger defects.
I agree thier wheels are great, However I ordered a set of ZR1's for my Camaro and they said they were on a slight backorder. Well 3months later they decided to tell me they were in the middle of switching casting companys and they had "No Idea" when more wheels would be made. So I canceled the order and went with Performance Wheel Outlet< Very very good wheels.

My fiance went through this too. It may be resolved by now, wouldn't hurt to check. Although, much better prices can be had on ebay for the same wheels. I bought a set for my 90 (chrome 9.5's all around) and paid $869 + shipping. They were gorgeous!
PS. This same seller had the painted rims for $589 or something. What a steal!

Nope no such luck, the jerks are switching production over to asia so no more made in america. They couldn't compete with the other companies selling their rims for 799

Hey Jeff, I didn't think they were ever made in America. My buddy who is in the wheel business told me not even GM ones are made in the US, but are made somewhere like Asia but finished in the US. Not sure but that was from a reliable source. That is why I was like, I am not buying the "real thing" GM wheels when they are not made in the US anyway. Who knows. Prices are getting VERY competitive now though.
i am very fussy & sent 3 sets of afs wheels back due to goldish tone in lug areas...as far as performance wheel outlet...THEY SUCK!!! i told them how fussy i was & they told me they never have complaints & i shouldnt worry....well i sent a bunch of thier junk wheels back! i bought them for my wifes camaro (see sig) ...they look awsome till you get up on them...then you can see the shabby prep work(sand marks under chrome, gold tone in lug areas, dirt under the chrome...)...i have one peeling real bad already (under 1 year old) when i called customer service i had nothing but problems & ended up getting in huge pissing match with the owner's! they know nothing about show quality chrome! :mad :cuss after sending 4 sets back i just gave up. afs is way better than performance wheel....but not much....if i could do it all over again i would definetly spend a little more & buy gm wheels! :yesnod: good luck!
I bought 2 rear wheels for drag radials. They are nice wheels, and it's hard to tell them from the GM wheels from a few feet away. I would buy from them again.
I got a set from PWO that looked like they had been dragged on the floor on their face. I sent those back and ordered from AFS. They came in nice and perfect the first time. A lot of vendors sell the A-mold style though. Check the Forum supporters too.
My son bought a set of ZR1 replicas for his '92. They were excellent to deal with and very fast shippers. After a couple months, lost a center cap. Called and bought a replacmentw/logo and got it USPS Priority 3 days later!
The wheels were perfect - bought them with Kuhmo's mounted - and would by another set from them in a heartbeat!! :yesnod:
