Melting Slicks
I have an '87 vert. I've replaced all the suspension rubbers, but the u-joints are good as are all the bearings. If it's a real nice car with a good top, paint, and interior it's a fair price. Anything less than that and it's probably high. I assume this is an auto? If not, deduct for the 4+3. It's not a bad trans, but it has a bad rep that hurts resale.

It makes a huge difference in the little things if the car you buy has spent it's life in a gargage. Someting to think about when looking. I have an 89 that my dad bought with 80,000 miles in 1996. It now has 102,000 miles. It would be low mileage if not high when he bought it. I digress, He kept it gargaged and it really has made a difference. I've bought other card garaged always and cosmetically they are far ahead of ones that sit outside. 'as for my 89 convertable, no suspension rubber or u joints have been replaced or are needed. It depends on a lot of factors (rough roads driven regularly, agressive driving etc). I love 88's and 89's. Good Look with your search. FYI, price sounds fair.

After all the shopping I've been doing, I'd say that's a pretty high price, but it sounds like its at a dealer, so you have that markup. I just looked at an LT1 Vert with 90k and service history, really clean car. All it needed was a new owner. It's a '94 auto. We got it for $6500 (buddy bought it for his wife).
I'm mostly looking at coupes for myself, but unless you really like the car, I'd say shop some more.
There's a dealer by my work that has a pristine '91 coupe with 40k miles for $9k.
