I own a 1989 Z51 6 spd. My horns do not work. I took the center out of the steering column. This is what I found. Is it supposed to look like this. When I ran a ground wire to the battery the horns did sound, anemically. But they did sound. So is there something missing. The spring is on the yellow wire.
Thank you

Just as I was posting the thread I said the contacts look dirty. Really I was trying to make sure that nothing was missing. I finally found it in the FSM and I cleaned the contacts. Now they work. I had to sandpaper my cigarette lighter so it would work. Now I can charge my cell phone and call for assistance. on those rare occasions when it needs help. Thank you.

Tomorrow CRUISE CONTROL!!!!!
The hose fails to the brake switch. Reach up under the dash and cut it then log ways. Stick some bailing wire in it and el tape it well. Lube the hose and pull it out into the engin bay. Reverse to install. And put a connector to the hose you cut to the brake switch. Or tear half the car apart with the risk of more damage to you and your car.

Okay
So I am guessing that the vacuum line to the brake pedal fails and should be replaced, correct? I should feed a wire into the hose anchor the wire and then pull the hose along the wire. Then take a hose and feed it on the wire until it reaches the brake pedal. So good, YES?
Put a connector to the hose?
Thank you
