Several months ago I started getting SES light upon start. Seemed to run fine and light would go off around 160 degrees. Then started having stuttering/missing until warmed up. I did some research and determined it to be the low temp sensor on the water pump. The connection was bad and almost broken off. I changed the sensor and the SES light quit coming on. But then I started getting SES light after warmed up, mostly if I had driven on highway. The light would go off if sitting at stop light and come back on when accelerator was touched. Took in for service and codes indicated o2 sensors and knock sensor. o2 sensors were changed and all seemed good. (did not change knock sensor) Next day SES light again on start up and would go off at 160 degrees. Now.... the digital temp indicator has stuck on 142 and car has become erratic and a little hard to start. Runs ok after warming up, but digital stuck on 142. I changed the low temp sensor again but no change. The engine does take a hard hit on occasion that is new only since temp gauge stuck on 142 degrees. What else controls that temp gauge and any other ideas appreciated.
Could be a bad new sensor. I would check the connections and make sure there is no air in the system. I have two bleeder screws on mine. Did you rest it by pulling power or by some other means?

This is the second sensor so I would think it's not that. Yes I did reset by pulling negative lead on battery for 10-15 seconds. It is possible the air in system is causing the problem. But why would the temp indicator sit at 142 degreese?
