Default Power effects exhaust system

Hi guys and gals, I'm new to the forum, but definitely not new to the world's best AMERICAN MADE sports car as I am on my 10th vette. I must admit I slipped (since 1986) and owned several xjs v12 jaguars and a couple of xk8 ragtops. Nice cars but not corvettes . Recently I picked up an absolute mint 93 aqua/black ragtop with a 6 speed stick, 50,000 well cared for miles, equipped with a power effects exhaust. Like new in, out and underneath, I know the new ones are absolutely awesome as I have used my buddy's on several occasons but for some reason having had 5 c4's, I am drawn to them.
Any way, the power effects system gives you the big block sound with adjustable performance levels to decrease the rumble if you so desire. I must b getting old because i'd like to tone em down, and wondered if any one out there knows where the adjustment lever is located and if you've had success adjusting them. I'd love to hear from you and get your take on the system. back 20 odd years ago I restored a 69 big block roadster with factory side exhaust, any one familiar with that era knows they are awesome. Plenty of power and a sound that can't be beat. There no adjustment on those and when I was in my 40's the louder the better. ÷)

Default Power effects exhaust

Thanks goldcylon, That doesn't look at all like what I have. Is the adjuster under the side exhaust shroud? Is it possible that mine do not adjust?. I did call power effects today and left a voice mail.

If you have the Side Effects system where the exhaust exits in front of the rear wheels then they do not adjust. The Power Effects system exits at the rear and they do adjust with the ****. As far as I remember, neither are being made anymore.

Power Effects is what I have, it adjusts. Side Effects I believe does not have the adjuster.

They do not make them anymore.

Then I would suggest that you check in the C4 "parts for sale section" every day as well as starting to check with all the corvette salvage yards around the country.

In 13 years here I only recall seeing 2 sets of "power effects" and -o- sets of side effects ever coming up for sale on the used market.

Good luck and be sure to let all of us know if you ever stumble across a supply of them.
