There is a great paint shop near Victorville/Apple Valley area. The guy paints without a mask, inside his garage, and uses a Lowe's paint brush. He claims to have 40 years of experience.
I got a great paint job done on an old caddy many moons ago by a discount paint shop (it was crushed by a hit and run trucker whilst out of gas on the freeway). Discount paint shops do a lot of business, and a good tape job is half the effort. Especially if it's going to be the same color I'd recommend it. They usually ask to keep it a few days in case the paint runs just like the expensive shops do.
I see some of the 'usual suspects' have offered their helpful suggestions.
Here's mine fwiw:
A professional paint job where they actually take stuff off the car like mirrors, headlight buckets, belt molding, front and rear fascia, etc will start at a minimum of $8000. (Just price paint and materials yourself then add 100hrs labor)
Your best bet is to find the local Corvette club and ask around. They'll know the shops that know Corvette's.
Eyeball the shops yourself. Look for cleanliness. How many half finished cars are there? You could get stuck in paint shop hell with a car half apart and no action. Talk to the owner about his process and time to complete. Listen, but look more.
Best advice already given, sell yours and buy a car with good/great paint already.
There is no such thing as a 'cheap paint job' there is only crappy paint that didn't cost much.
