The problem is what to do with it. Each mile you add drives down the value, and an 85 Vette is not exactly the car you put on a pedestal in a museum. I hate to see these great drivers cars that were never used.

Kind of a broad statement you made there. The 1985 C4 was, and is still a great car. The early manual transmission C4's (84-89) are now gaining in value compared to some of the later C4's. There are buyers out there actually seeking them out now a days in this condition. Hard to swallow for some here but it's just the facts.

Probably the Nicest '85 in existence...
At Barrett Jackson in Vegas, and just watched a 85 with 2,200 miles cross the block, if it had stopped at $10k it would have been headed to my garage, but sold for $15k.

This '85 has just over 8k on it and looks as nice as any I've seen in a very long time.
I bought it new and very quickly had to store it for 9 years while deployed overseas. When I took it out of storage, all I needed to do was replace the battery, a new fuel pump, and rebuild the clutch slave cylinder. I did replace the tires (and wheels) about 8 years ago because the originals were just too hard. The slightest application of power would break them loose and felt like being on ice. I still have the original tires and wheels just in-case...
I was a bit disappointed in what the subject car sold for. Mine is a Z51 with the 4+3 transmission. I don't drive it often now (too many others to drive), but every time I do, I'm reminded of just what a leap forward the C4 was over the earlier Corvettes.
Good luck... GUSTO

Truth be told there are a lot more C4's out in the market that are worn out so of course a low mileage garage queen with under 5K miles will be the exception now no matter what year it is.
There are plenty who prefer the older C4 because they like the look of the bumpers or like the older dash lay out etc. Happy to see an older C4 in such great shape still available and I am sure it will make someone very pleased to now own.

The price seems about right. Nice purchase for someone. Of course if the new owner decides to drive it, more $$ will be needed, from tires to fluid changes, etc...
Thanks for posting. Always interesting to see.

Even at $15k, I personally consider that cheap considering this is pretty much a brand new 1985.
I had started the initial thread on the speculation, thank you for the update!
