Default Ferrari C4 Conversion on Ebay

Hopefully this is not a repost.

Did anyone see this C4 to Ferrari conversion on ebay?

that's just wrong on so many levels! "built at a cost of $78K" - and a buy it now at $37K -

With the exception of the excessive front overhang, it looks great IMHO.
But there's no way I would spend $37k on it.
Should have cleaned it up before taking the glamour shots...

I have seen it many times before and each time I still don't like it. I would have paid 78k on something else back in the day if the EBAY ad is correct

A Corvette is best a being a Corvette not a Ferrari. That's very optimistic pricing for something that a Corvette is not.

Sammy Hagar might like it. Too bad the bolt pattern doesn't fit a '94.

This kit used to be made/sold by a company in New Orleans. The name escapes me at the moment, but the son shot/killed the father IIRC. The wife took over for a few years until Katrina provided the opportunity for a cash-in.

Of the companies that did fiberglass for C4's (C3's and more), I thought this particular company went the furthest. There were complaints about the actual execution of parts (that required moderate rework to "get right") but the designs lent credit to the owner/designer that was killed.

The particular kit being linked on Ebay is aptly named Vetterosa.

I am a particular fan of a hood they used to make -- which I've also seen on eBay from another vendor. The hi-rise was lower than the one I have with a bit of "flair" at the back and vents in the cowl.

Oh yeah....It was called Vanacor's. If you are curious, Google "Vanacors Images". There is a good chunck of pictures of their work/parts. Because of the age of our C4s, it might be time to consider works like this part of the heritage vs something to laugh at....especially when the execution was done well. At least I think the seat covers (obviously custom) were interesting...and had a period flavor to them. If driven down the street, most of us would have a hard time spotting that it was a Corvette.

In the 60's-70's, the VW Beetle chassis served as "the donor" for many/most kit cars. It might be nice is the C4 took it's place for the next generation? (Just throwing that out there after the "Future of the C4?" threads being run in this forum).

"rare"; "very rare" ? probably since Ferrari sued anyone and everyone who dared produce replica's of his precious cars...somehow diminished the value of his cars; hey hasn't anyone ever heard that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? apparently Ferrari never did.

Remember "Miami Vice"? well Don Johnson wasn't driving a real Ferrari either.

personally I wouldn't touch that car with a 10 foot clown pole.

Oh great; that's just great. I can look forward to my 96 being cut up and ending up in the back of an abandoned barn after some Bubba gave up on the idea of using it for a dune buggy chassis. Why don't I just drive it into a crusher now. With me inside.
